The Audacity of Snail

Sean Kelly is delighted to present a special children's storytime and art activity in conjunction with The Audacity of Scale, a group exhibition exploring the varied and often unexpected ways artists engage with scale, both formally and conceptually.

Inspired by the exhibition's themes of perspective, proportion, and our relationship to the world around us, Gallery Partner Lauren Kelly will read the illustrated children’s book, The Snail and the Whale by Julia Donaldson. This beloved story follows the extraordinary friendship between a tiny snail and a giant humpback whale, taking children on a journey across oceans and continents while celebrating curiosity, courage, and the power of seeing beyond one's own perspective.

Following the reading, the young artists can participate in an art creation with themed coloring pages inspired by the story, encouraging them to explore ideas of scale, creativity, and imagination through their own artistic expressions.

This event is recommended for children between the ages of  3–10. RSVP is kindly requested, please email rsvp@skny.com
