Yes – she’s coming to Kaunas! Kaunas - European Capital of Culture 2022 presents a unique opportunity to see Memory of Being, a solo exhibition by Marina Abramović, one of the world’s most renowned artists.
The exhibition is based on Abramović’s series The Cleaner, which began at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm in 2017 and reached the conceptual end of its journey in 2020 in her native city of Belgrade, where she presented her work for the first time after a break of nearly 50 years.
This impressive project was made possible through the partnership of Meno Parkas Gallery with the Centre for Contemporary Art Znaki Czasu in Toruń, which successfully hosted The Cleaner in 2019 and agreed to assist in establishing contact with the Marina Abramović Institute in New York and serve as co-curators (Waclaw Kuczma and Dorota Kuczma) for this event.
