Julian Charriere in Inventing Nature - Plants in Art

In a nutshell

Plants have always been with people. How has the representation and the relationship to them changed?

The exhibition Inventing Nature - Plants in Art  is dedicated to our relationship to the world of plants. Masterpieces from more than 500 years of art history illustrate the change in images of “green” nature and our relationship to it. The spectrum of the discussion ranges from ideas of paradise, depictions of the wilderness to pictures of gardens and botanical studies, from imitations of natural processes to the documentation of processes of growth and decay.

In view of advancing climate change, people around the world are calling for a radical change in the way they deal with nature - the exhibition will offer a variety of opportunities to view the topic from a wide variety of perspectives.
