Joseph Kosuth in There's a fairy tale today

There's a fairy tale today is an exhibition constructed as a choral narrative in which the classic fairy tale takes shape through the works of some of the leading figures in modern and contemporary art. From Osvaldo Licini to Fausto Melotti, from Lucio Fontana to Michelangelo Pistoletto, from Piero Gilardi to Giuseppe Penone, all the way to Yves Klein, Carol Rama, Aldo Mondino, Emilio Isgrò, Luigi Mainolfi, Emanuele Luzzati, Joseph Kosuth, Kiki Smith, Grazia Toderi, Pinot Gallizio, Luigi Veronesi, Joseph Beuys, Sofia Cacherano di Bricherasio, and Giuseppe Pietro Bagetti, the exhibition intertwines different languages, eras, and sensibilities to present the fairy tale not only as a literary or illustrative genre but as a framework for visual thought. The works, which come from Turin institutions (GAM – Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Museo della Frutta, Musei Reali – Museo di Antichità, Teatro Regio), important private collections, foundations, and international galleries, do not illustrate stories, but rather take on their profound mechanisms—the mirror, the forest, the magical object, the slipper, the metamorphosis, the happy ending—transforming Miradolo Castle into an intimate yet collective space.
