Fifteen years after its founding, The Gund celebrates its collection not as an archive of completed narratives, but as a living framework for inquiry. A collection is never static. It grows through acts of generosity, through rigorous scholarship, through the vision of artists, and through the countless encounters that unfold between works of art and those who spend time with them.
This exhibition proposes that a museum's greatest responsibility is not simply to preserve objects, but to create the conditions from which ideas can emerge.
The works assembled here span generations, geographies, and artistic practices. Rather than following a chronological or art historical sequence, they are brought together through affinities, tensions, echoes, and unexpected correspondences. Images speak across decades. Materials repeat in different forms. Gestures are exchanged between artists. Questions posed by one work find resonance in another. Like constellations, meaning emerges through relation.
