“Paradise Lost” is titled from the 17th-century English poet John Milton (1608–1674). In this group exhibition, the participated artists’ works try to justify the free will of man and the progress of urban civilization. The exhibition mainly takes the end and regeneration of the urban civilization as a main context to describe the changes of urban landscape caused by humanity, capitalism, and war.
The abandoned space or ruin is as medium to connect the past and future. The emphasis on gaze and metaphor is an open discussion. Through this exhibition, we will reflect and consider the contradictions and hidden meanings of these existing spaces, and even the residual functions to find the future progress of human and urban civilization.
