Deutsche Bank announces the inaugural art installation by Idris Khan and Annie Morris in the lobby of their new US headquarters at Deutsche Bank Center at Columbus Circle.
The new works on display by #IdrisKhan are four monumental grid paintings that refer to the changing colours of the seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, an idea conceived by Khan during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic as he observed the vivid colours and changes in nature. Forced to slow down during this period of lockdown, in these works Khan reflects on his own increased awareness of the changing rhythms and colours of the natural world. These watercolour and oil collaged works on paper incorporate layered fragments of the score of Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’, using segments as a springboard for his own visual evocation of a calendar year. Featured alongside these works is Annie Morris’ 2019 sculpture Stack 9, Cobalt Turquoise Light.
