Opening on September 18, 2026, Aperture’s new home at 380 Columbus Avenue features a bookstore and gallery with a rotation of intimate photography presentations and a dynamic calendar of programming.
The inaugural installation, Aperture Loves New York, pays tribute to photographers who have shaped—and been shaped by—the city. Showcasing artists long championed by Aperture and anchored in Aperture’s publishing history, the presentation brings together important and memorable photographs with corresponding Aperture books that have advanced the medium of photography and captured the complex spirit of New York City.
Organized by Sarah Meister, Executive Director, the installation features photographs by more than twenty artists, including Diane Arbus, Tina Barney, Dawoud Bey, Ernest Cole, Sara Cwynar, Awol Erizku, Robert Frank, Lee Friedlander, Nan Goldin, Ethan James Green, Justine Kurland, Gillian Laub, Deana Lawson, Danny Lyon, Tyler Mitchell, Missy O’Shaughnessy, Sophie Rivera, Anastasia Samoylova, Stephen Shore, Coreen Simpson, Alex Webb, Rebecca Norris Webb, Carrie Mae Weems, Hank Willis Thomas. Aperture Loves New York will be on view through November 1, 2026.
