On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Pinakothek der Moderne, the curators of the Modern Art Collection are jointly designing the new hanging of the collection under the title MIX & MATCH. Characterized by curiosity and a love of experimentation, this presentation breaks away from the historical sequence of styles and invites you to rediscover the collection in epoch- and media-spanning themed rooms and unconventional juxtapositions. Based on key works from the fields of painting, sculpture, photography, video art, installation and graphics, topics relevant to 21st-century society such as community, migration, work, the environment or violence and conflict are examined. Around 300 works and serial works from 120 years of art history can be seen in 25 rooms covering more than 3,500 square meters.
