Every day, people are looking at and sharing images, mainly via the internet, at great speed. The works in this exhibition, however, defy rapid viewing, because the first impression is deceptive and careful scrutiny is required.
Seven selected artists examine established perception mechanisms. In the field of tension between painting and photographic techniques, they address the veracity of images and open up new interpretative frameworks. In an amazing way, the show explores the mutuality of photorealistic representation and pictorial illusory space, in which the real is only hinted at.
