Join artist Shahzia Sikander and Saisha Grayson, curator of time-based media, for a virtual conversation about the artist’s multimedia practice, including the video The Last Post, recently acquired by the museum and now on view. They will discuss how moving-image works like this evolved from her early training in classical Indo-Persian miniature painting. Since arriving to the U.S. in the 1990s, Sikander has been a key part of a generation reshaping American art through their globally connected perspectives. Over the decades, her iconoclastic practice has expanded from small works on paper to large multiform installations.
