Julian Charrière in Potential Worlds 2: Eco-Fictions

The Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst presents the exhibition Potential Worlds 2: Eco-Fictions. The group exhibition follows on from Potential Worlds 1: Planetary Memories with speculative drafts of the network of relationships between man and nature against the background of the current ecological situation. The consequences of the destruction of nature show the need to understand humans as part, not the center of the world. The first part of the exhibition, Potential Worlds 1: Planetary Memories, shed light on how people have appropriated the environment to gain power and resources and what consequences this has for nature and social contexts. Following on from this, Potential Worlds 2: Eco-Fictions asked what potential worlds can arise in these man-made ruins: How can the garbage of the present and the traces of destruction be dealt with? In view of the current precarious global situation, how can new forms of life be sought? What role can art take on as a technological, scientific and social experiment? The artists in the exhibition create visions for potential worlds and make it clear that visual visions of the future are needed so that alternative forms of life can emerge. They reflect our dealings with nature and create ideas of new forms of life on earth - let yourself be inspired !
