Presence is not a given, but is created and experienced through active perception (in) an environment. Photographic art exists in a field of tension between making visible and hiding, showing and hiding, fullness and emptiness. In the exhibition by the DZ BANK Art Foundation, various construction options for presence as a characteristic of photographic works of art are shown using selected examples from the DZ BANK collection.
