Laurent Grasso at the Bass Museum of Art
On view for the duration of the fair

Laurent Grasso's solo exhibition at the Bass Museum of Art will be on view through Art Basel Miami Beach. The exhibition, titled Portrait of a Young Man, builds on Grasso’s reflections on the Renaissance, a time when the fields of science and the arts actively informed one another. In order to explore this theme within his oeuvre, Grasso selected historic works from the Renaissance and Baroque collection of the Bass Museum of Art to create a dialogue with his own works from a wide range of media, provocatively alluding to connections between the past and present. The exhibition is co-curated by the Bass Museum's Executive Director and Chief Curator Silvia Karman Cubiña and Knight Curatorial Fellow Kristin Korolowicz and will be on view through February 12, 2012.

For more information on the exhibition, please visit The Bass Museum of Art.

On view for the duration of the fair

In conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Public, a new annual presentation of outdoor sculptures, interventions and performances in Collins Park, will feature a major new sculpture by Antony Gormley. The work, STRAIN, is an important Extended Block Work which continues Gormley’s investigation of the human body and space. STRAIN abolishes the limits of the physical body, extending solid rectilinear volumes in all three axes to translate subjective spatial experience into objective form. Art Public is curated by Christine Y. Kim, Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
