Dawoud Bey in Conversations with Contemporary Artists: Dawoud Bey

Since the beginning of his career, Dawoud Bey has used his camera to represent communities and histories that have been underrepresented or even unseen. He makes photographs both as a form of personal expression and as an act of social and political responsibility, insisting on the necessary work of artists and art institutions to break down obstacles to access, convene communities, and open dialogue.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to hear from the artist as he is joined in conversation by Sarah Kennel, Donald and Marilyn Keough Family Curator of Photography. Dawoud Bey: An American Project is currently on view at the High.

Support for Conversations with Contemporary Artists is provided by the Jane F. and Clayton F. Jackson Conversations with Contemporary Artists Endowment.
