Alec Soth: From Here to There

Walker Art Center, November 2010

Description

This beautifully compiled exhibition catalogue for From Here to There at the Walker Art Center features more than 200 photographs by contemporary American photographer Alec Soth. It features photographs of everyday America taken over the last 15 years, from the black and white series Perfect Strangers to the latest body of work Broken Manual.

Also included in the catalogue are critical essays by exhibition curator Siri Engberg, curator and art historian Britt Salvesen, and critic Barry Schwabsky. In addition to this it features a text by Geoff Dyer and a poem by August Kleinzahler. Inserted in the back of the book is the 48-page artist's book The loneliest man in Missouri. This thoughtfully conceived publication is rounded off by a complete exhibition history, bibliography and an interview with the artist by Bartholomew Ryan.
