Following his visit to The Phillips Collection, Laib will travel to the Art Institute of Chicago, where he will be in conversation with Mary Jane Jacob, Executive Director of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's Department of Exhibitions, and Nora Taylor, SAIC's Alsdorf Professor of South and Southeast Asian Art, discussing his practice and inaugurating his exhibition at the SAIC Sullivan Galleries. The conversation will take place at Fullerton Hall of the Art Institute of Chicago on Monday, October 17 at 6pm; the event is free and open to the public.

Unlimited Ocean
at the SAIC Sullivan Galleries

The exhibition at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago Sullivan Galleries, titled Unlimited Ocean, is one of Laib's largest pollen and rice installations to date. Laib will work with a team of SAIC alumni during a ten-day residency to create the installation in the expansive Sullivan North Gallery. Unlimited Ocean opens to the public on October 25 and runs through December 23, 2011.
