Leandro Erlich will be part of a group exhibition at 104 - Le Cent Quatre in Paris, France. The exhibition, which focuses on work that alters the viewer's sense of perception and reality through seeking active engagement on both a physical and intellectual level, also includes Belgian artists Ann Veronica Janssens and Lawrence Malstaf. Titled In_Perceptions, the exhibition will be on view from September 24 through December 9, 2011.
In_Perceptions will include two large scale installations from Leandro Erlich; Bâtiment, pictured above, turns the facade of a building on its side and, through the use of a large mirror, gives the impression that the viewers who walk or lay on the surface of the building are effortlessly defying the laws of gravity. The other work included in the exhibition, Changing Rooms, replicates a clothing store's dressing room and, through a disorienting exclusion of mirrors, similarly disrupts the viewer's expectation of what should be an everyday architectural space.
