Press Release

Sean Kelly will exhibit a solo presentation of an extraordinary new series of paintings by Kehinde Wiley at ADAA: The Art Show (Booth D24). Entitled Iconic, the presentation at The Art Show will mark the debut of these intimately scaled portraits which use the visual language and gestures of 15th century icons to depict contemporary subjects selected by Wiley from the streets of New York City. These eight new portraits are presented in specially designed frames that are architectural and gilded in the style of their Byzantine forebears.

The Art Show will be held at the Park Avenue Armory at 67th Street from March 5 - 9; for more information on the fair, including opening hours, directions and ticketing information, please visit The Art Show website.

The gallery will concurrently participate in The Armory Show (Pier 94 - Booth 501) at Piers 92 & 94 in New York; for more information, please visit The Armory Show website. Throughout the course of both fairs, the gallery will be open to the public during our regular hours—from 11am until 6pm, Tuesday to Friday and from 10am until 6pm on Saturday—with our exhibition Frank Thiel: Nowhere is a Place, on view through March 22.
